The portal Latvija.gov.lv is central source of information about the services provided by the Latvian Public Administration.
The main goal of the portal is to provide Latvian and foreign residents and entrepreneurs with centralized and convenient access to information about public administration services and their electronic use, as well as to ensure electronic and secure communication with the state.
The Public Administration Services Portal started its operation on August 3, 2006. The portal was launched by the Ministry of Special Assignments for e-Government.
The “Regulations of the Public Administration Services Portal” of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulate - “The portal is a high-security state information system, and its manager is the State Regional Development Agency.”
In the “Services” section, all the public administration services available on the portal are grouped together, briefly explaining in the “Life situations” section how to deal with specific cases.
The E-address is a personalized mailbox on the portal and can be accessed by connecting to the portal with your digital identity (for example, using an ID card or eSignatures Mobile).
The portal allows natural persons to be authorised to read the e-address messages of another natural person and allows a legal person to authorise a natural person to perform activities at an e-address, perform e-services and use information systems on behalf of a legal person.
By typing a phrase or word composition in the “Search engine”, you will be redirected to the search engine, where you can find all the data available on the portal, including e-services on the subject of interest.
On each page of the Latvija.gov.lv portal, it is possible to choose the functionality of the visually impaired display, as well as access to information in English, performed with the help of a machine translator.
